Plug valve cast iron, cast steel in straight through or multiport flow configurations. API standards PFA or FEP lined options.
These are the oldest design of valve on record dating back to the Roman Empire and their then revolutionary water distribution networks. They are still a quarter turn design of which the modern ball valve is based on however they still have a very important niche that ball valves cannot quite compete with. They are particularly prevalent in the Petrochemical and Water industries in different designs. We cater for the specialist rotational cam action units as well as lubricated and non-lubricated versions. Body designs are parallel or tapered plug and maybe fully lined or sleeved or bare metal. The majority have a cylindrical plug with a rectangular port while some have a modified round port. Eccentric designs are prevalent in the waterworks industry.
Materials of construction can be brass, iron, steel and stainless in various grades. We offer these in Exotic alloys such as Titanium for arduous chemical serevices. Like ball valves they are available in multiport designs ie 3 ways and 4 ways but give much varied flow options over ball valves.
Sizes ranges from 15nb to 900nb and pressure ratings from 200psi to 3500psi. Valve and Flow Control Specialists offer a complete range of these valves in the various designs in manual or actuated operation. Petro-Chemical Service
The twinseal valve is a unique double block and bleed valve primarily used in the oil and gas industry. Its unique design retracts the plug off the valve seat and then rotates opening minimizing any wear and in reverse closing ensures drip tight sealing.
AZ plug valves sleeved and lined for various processes in the chemical, mining and petroleum industries. In the sleeved versions they can have a steam jacket to ensure valves operate correctly in viscous media applications. Some petroleum applications also use the DBB types, their operation is more of a ball type operation unlike a twinseal design. UOP certified AZ plug valves for Hydrofluoric Acid applications in petroleum refineries give safe and reliable service.

Lubricated plug valves – Tapered and inverted pressure balanced plug valves
Lubricated plugs come in 2 styles standard tapered which have the skinny end of the plug at the bottom and Inverted which has the skinny end of the plug at the top. Each has its own application.
The Valvitalia Delta lubricated plug valves are NOT sealant sealing they are lubricated to ensure smooth operation and achieve their sealing by metal to metal contact. The plug is a tapered design and they are more an oil and gas valve for pressure classes ANSI 150 up to ANSI 2500. to API6D and API6A.
Multiport lubricated plug valves are of the standard tapered style. They can be 3 way or 4 way flow options. Plug valves do not blend product like ball valves when operated this makes them unique and in many cases a necessity when diverting flows. Because of their action they are only available in ANSI 150 and ANSI 300.

Lubricated plug valves by Milliken are in fact a sealant design popular in traditional industries such as bitumen (higher temperatures). They have parallel plugs and are available in 3 and 4 way designs also. We have a range of different sealants available for various media / processes.
Waterworks
The Milliken eccentric plug valve is a waterworks unit having a round port instead of the traditional rectangular port.
We still offer the traditional rectangular port units found in the waterworks industry.
